It seems that you have some error with your language phrases.
Try to reupload the original vbulletin-language.xml file from the zip file to your site. Make sure you chosse overwrite the current. Then import this file in the 'Upload' section in Languages & Phrases.
or you can find g phrase through language and phrases manager (Phrase Variable Name Only), if you can't find anything, then try to add a "g" phrase yourself.
phrases manager
add new phrase
Phrase Type: What the H is G
Varname: g
now put any text you want, save it

would that replace anything? if i reupload the original language xml.? n adding g sounds like the simplest n smartest idea will try for sure

Adding g is the prefer one solution, and if it didnt resolve your problem (as it should). then try to reupload the orignal one and do it only if you don't have any choice left.
It will replace any phrase if you've been made.

There is no phrase "g" in default vbulletin. So, this error is from a modification. I suggest you search through your modification xml files for the one that uses a phrase called "g".

hello. thanks for your response. so your saying to open the xml files for my products and look for one that has a phrase called g in it. ahh seem like a needle in a hay stack. i added the phrase g and that didnt seem to help any. purely frustrated.
Did you try using "Search in Templates" and search for {vb:phrase g} or {vb:rawphrase g}?

i did once i read your post. no such luck. last plugins we added were vbmultipages, birthday plug in. We have tons of plug ins but everything has worked fine before them 2. i disabled them both and Error "g" still happens when people try to send PM's or make a post.
Is it possible updating to a newer vb would fix this? im currently on 4.0.3 is that an option?

Does your text editor, or OS, not allow you to search files within a directory? If so, I would guess you have saved all your modifications into one area on your computer, so just do a Search in Directory for your modifications directory and look for the phrase.

Have you tried doing a search directly in your database - the plugins table?
Upgrading vbulletin will not do a thing in regards to the phrase because it isn't a default vbulletin phrase.
You could uninstall all your products AND plugins (not all plugins belong to products), but that may cause some issues on your site depending on the product or plugin and whether you truely completely uninstall it (that means removing all files, plugins, template edits, everything).

You guys are the best. Thanks for the very fast responses. And points in the right direction. After going threw the plug-ins we found which one was giving us the issue. I guess When You think about it, it would make sense to check this one first. BUt i couldn't think straight.
It was a Banned words Plug-in. All is great now. Thanks again.
