Just set up my first vB forum and would LOVE feedback on it!
The forum is designed for 2nd home owners as well as people who dream of one day owning a vacation home.
http://www.The2ndKey.com
What are the site's strengths?
What are the weaknesses? And how can they best be addressed?
Which key mods am I missing to enhance site functionality, aesthetics or security?
It's because of this community that I was able to create and launch this site within two days. For someone non-technical as myself, I'm most grateful to the knowledgeable men and women at vB.org.
Thank you, in advance, for any feedback you're willing to share! :)

I suggest setting a favicon.ico file... your double-key logo should work.

Hi Joe! And thanks for your feedback. The favicon was set as per the attached image. (And you're right about the double key being perfect for that!)
But if you're not seeing it, there may be a technical issue. Can I ask what O/S and browser/version you're using?
Appreciate any additional thoughts that cross your mind when you looked at the site!
Many thanks :)

I'm using the latest Google Chrome on Windows 7 64bit Ultimate. On all other web pages I see the favicon pretty much immediately. I surfed around various pages on your site and it never came up.
Did you save it as favicon.ico in your forum root or are you using a tag in the page to a custom file?

hey joe, saved it as favicon.ico in the root to simply replace the vB logo. will have to check into that issue. thanks for raising it!
what are your other thoughts about the forum? quite eager to get experienced feedback :)

It seems like a pretty standard VB 4 install, nothing is really popping out at me one way or another. Personally I'm not a fan of the blue you are using on the navbar (it makes the highlighting of "Forum" or "What's New" ugly IMO) but that is just my opinion- obviously doesn't mean much.
I see the favicon is in the right place but still not working for me... is it the right format? You didn't just rename a .gif file to .ico did you?

hey joe, every opinion counts! appreciate your time in looking over the site. you're the second person to mention the blue to me this week so i'll likely tone it down so it's easier on the eye. thank you :)
favicon was saved using a program. will research this a bit more as it'd be a nice mod to the site in a very subtle way
