I am getting a lot of emails from users trying to register with them saying that vB said they are a spammer and would not allow them. I have interacted with these people and they seem like anything but. Their email addresses are from yahoo and gmail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using a SPAM mod to block spam registration? Maybe adjust the settings.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

There is no default phrases in vbuletin that would tell a user that. Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Sorry, I'm a liar. I just checked my plugins and I have something called "SpamBuster" - do you think that's what's causing it?

I don't know that modification, so I can't say. But, if you disable it and suddenly people aren't complaining anymore, then chances are good that that modification is the problem.

I disabled it and the person who initially complained about the problem said she is still experiencing it. Here is the exact phrase she is getting:

Registration denied, this forum runs an active policy of not allowing spammers. Please contact us via the "Contact Us" page link if you believe this is in error

Then it is another modification. Go find that phrase in your phrase manager and find out what modification it belongs to.

I believe that's a phrase from the GlowHost Spam-O-Matic mod.

Change your GlowHost settings to resemble the following. (image attached)

This way, It will still allow them to register, but it will log them, and you can ban them if they get past all the other filters.

Thanks man! That did the trick. You are a genius.
