Category forumdisplay.php question

I'm basically on a new install of vB4 and one thing I noticed was that if you click a category it doesn't have the "Post New Thread" link, but instead just empty space where it would otherwise be. For an example of what I'm talking about view this: https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/30-vBulletin-Announcements On mine there would just be a blank where the post button is. Please help =)

Categories contain forums, not threads. :> You have to put forums inside the categories, and then the FORUMS contain the threads, heh.

That doesn't answer my question or for the example on vbulletin.com.

edit: Got the buttons by setting the category to "open" (still can't be posted in, but the graphics show).

You would need to create a conditional around the Reply buttons in FORUMDISPLAY to hide those buttons.
