Exceed quota Error on attachments

I keep getting the following error every time I try to upload or link to a picture in an album.

The following errors occurred:

xyz.jpg Exceeds forum quota by 724.4 KB.

As an FYI -- the actual size of the photo -- is about 4KB

Not sure what I have done wrong - because I was able to upload when I first setup the forum -- any help will be greatly appreciated -- thanks

Check AdminCP > Settings > Options > message attachments options > Limit Space Taken Up By Attachments (Total)

it is set to

512000

should it be set to zero ? (I think that is what it was originally set to)

It depends on what you want. A value of 512000 bytes is only about .5 MB which is really not that much at all. I would suggest thinking about how much space you would like to allow for attachments and then figuring out how many bytes that is.
