Hey everyone,

I've created a student help site named Students Corner (http://studentscorner.ca) and it's really new.

Do you think i should use a different theme?
Upload Mods?
Change the style?

Very cool skin, excellent background choice and none scroll with forum.

If I was to be perfectly honest your logo needs to be more matte, nice idea with teh calculator and pencil, but its to 'crisp' looking.

I would have used a larger font and involved the 'student' theme into it.

Well, how about facebook connect option? Students could log in using their accounts. Just a thought.

Your hot news is out of whack with the fixed template - I think that was written for fluid.....

Nice site tho - sent my 14 year son over....may be helpful for him and his friends!

If your decision is to stay with this style (and I think it fits the theme of the site) then there are quite a few tweaks to be done.


The "Hot News" at the top (as Krusty mentioned above) is not lined up with the site as it is longer than the fixed style width.
I'd have a professional logo made that would integrate nicely with that background image.
Postbit colors need to be adjusted to fit the color scheme of the site. (light blue isn't working with the rest of the color scheme)
Both the 'default style' and 'green school' are the same style when clicking on the style chooser at the bottom of the site. Eliminate one to avoid confusion.
I'd go with either status icons or forum icons, but not both. And, for your style, I'd go with custom forum icons to draw the eye to those forums.
I would definitely add 'games' as you mention as well as use a 'credits' program like vBcredits in order for your members to come back and continue playing for the chance to win more.
In conjunction with the 'credits' program, I'd have something to spend the credits on. That way, members continue to visit and play games and post to earn credits to 'buy' things.

Design is fantastic. Looks nice. I'm not sure if the notice color/theme fits in with the rest of the site.

Also, as stated, the not news marquee isn't really flattering to your site. Also it is not aligned correctly. I'm not really sure if it even belongs there. Maybe you could change the red color on the arrow on the left.

Also the yellow text on the hover/selected tabs in the nav are hard to read.

I changed back to vbulletin. I HATE MYBB WITH A PASSION NOW. I'm sticking with Vbulletin :) Would anyone be intrested in helping me form a facebook thing for my site? I'm also looking for volunteers.
