I have reason to believe a certain user is harassing people on my forum and I take that quite seriously. Is there any hack that will allow me to check a specific users private message to see if that is going on?
Thank you.
P.S. Please don't bother with the privacy talk stuff. I know about that.

Search for the Name "Read PMs" in the mod section. Its a Bit outdated but also works with the current vb 4 version.

If it's just a one time thing, you can do it directly in the database in the pmtext table.

There is a hack out there called "sign in as user" that I have used. I only use it for testing out different problems they are seeing, and I'm not, but I had one troublesome member that was doing exactly what your member was doing, and I was able to log into his name, and read what he had wrote. I then deleted all PM's and banned him cause of it. I highly suggest that hack just for the fact you can check out problems, but on the rare occasions where you need to see a PM, you can do so.
what hack/mod is this . i have a couple of members on my site that are joining up and then causing some drama's with members i would only use this in the last resort as i do believe pm's are pm's but my members saftey and security is more important . if i could have some help on this it would be good im a newbie on vb . thanks

It's called "Admin Log In As User", and I just searched on here for it, and I couldn't find it. I may have downloaded it from www.vbteam.info, although I do not like downloading stuff over there. But, I have it, and it works fine.

Search: Read - All Mods.
This comes up under 3.6 mods and works too.

I was not sure if that would work or not. Glad it will though.

You would need to know how to access your database in order to do this.
