Im fed up of shared hosts and want to move to a decent VPS account. My budgets around 20-25 USD a month.

Id probably run 1 VB site and a couple of wordpress powered non blog sites. My daily users are less than 50 for all the sites.

Could someone shed some light on what exactly I should look for as far as RAM and CPU is concerned?

And also recommend a host as this is my first time with a vps.

Thanks

I currently have a VPS with JaguarPC and am satisfied. I know JaguarPC recently upgraded their VPS specs. I've also had a VPS with Knownhost and they were good too. I would recommend that you look at both of them.

I've been using Knownhost for 2 months. I like them so far.

I use altushost.com there great. 24 live support. there offshore and fully manage it for you. they will even move your current forum to your vps. they have never let me down. the specs should go by your traffic. they have a low end vps for I think around 25 -30$ fully managed. that means if you need anything done they do it for no charge.

I prefer m3server. They are fully managed in the US, hosting since 1996, and have great specs. You really only need the first plan which is $19 a month. I use that for my vB and it's doing very good right now 8)

oh.. also note that some vps hosting requires you to purchase your cpanel license.. its different for all.. mine charges 15$ a month. so when looking make sure its either included or if it is a seperate fee.

I always get my locations wrong. When I post there they tell me to come here and now lol. Sorry Lynn! Mental note to self.

This has been sorted than you everyone for the responses and recommendations appreciate it.

I went with a small company in the UK with probably some of the best support staff I have come across. So far the service is top notch as well.

(I'm not affiliated to them neither am I vouching for anything. Just my humble experience as I had a time trying to decide. If they screw up I'll post post back definitely lol ;) nahh hopefully not)
