Hello Everyone,

As we all know and use the old advanced editor for the default vBulletin editor here : https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=232730
And thanks to everyone who made the last mod the winner MOTM so I decided to leave the old thread with forums running an old versions of vBulletin who don't updated to 4.1.4 yet.

What's it ?
A full featured quick reply and quick edit editors with both drop-down smiles and clickable smiles to get the best quick reply editor ever made :up:

As I said in the first post, You should have vBulletin 4.1.4 installed first in order to get this modification work.
This modification is for the updated editor in 4.1.4

Make sure you are using vb4.1.4 first.

I'll update the mod tomorrow to prevent it from installing in older version than 4.1.4

Hello,

1- I can't check this error due to the editor is in beta stage so let's wait to the final build as I see in the project issues "At vbulletin.com" that there's many new fixes will be in the final build.

2- I can't see any additional buttons with Arabic description in that screen-shot.

3- It will be added to the default editor itself so I don't need to add it to my modification.

What is these buttons? for what? from where? It is not in the default ckeditor released in 4.1.4 ^_^
These two buttons are not in the original editor which is in vbulletin.com, I don't know what is the function of it. becuase I didn't see it before and it is not in advance reply, just appear in quick reply.

Great mod, installed and working perfectly! One more button I'd love to see though is the "Switch Editor Modes". Especially right now since I find the WYSIWYG editor to be a bit buggy, I find it helpful to look at the actual code when editing a post.

1- Will make a detecting code to detect the vbulletin version if it's suite or forum only.
2- Will remove it completely (Which is highly possible to be done)

Because vb3.x don't have CKEditor, And this modification is only for CKEditor which is only merged into vb4.1.4

There's no additional templates or edits it's just an updated to php codes itself so it "Should" work as I use an updated default vBulletin codes.

I haven't tried it with custom bbcodes but it should work fine as there's no custom templates all working in PHP side.

The bb code buttons missing isn't this mod's fault

With vb4.1.4 beta and with 4.1.4 I get the bb code buttons in advanced reply/thread creation, but with quick reply there's no buttons

However, it's the same when I disable this mod too, so it's ckeditor's fault, and ckeditor is terrible I really wish they woudn't have switched to this junk or at least gave us the option to use the normal vbulletin editor that was working perfectly fine this entire time

The bbcode and Source mode buttons both show in advanced. So should be included in this mod too.

And your statement makes no sense for if I turn this mod off, none of the advanced editors images will show, for that is the point of this mod. ;)

Do you speak english natively? It's not hard to understand- the bbcodes not showing up in quick reply has nothing to do with this mod, because when you disable it, they still don't show up the default quick reply. So contact vbulletin about it.


I have no idea if the source button shows up or not, I still don't even know what it is so you'll have to test that for yourself to see if it's the fault of this mod or not, but the bbcode buttons have nothing to do with this mod, it's ckeditor's fault and vbulletin's fault for choosing such a horrible editor when they had a perfectly fine one to begin with

Oh ok, see I thought the bbcodes were supposed to be in the quick reply and it was a bug that they're not because you see, when I'd fill in the option for the bbcode image button before the release of ckeditor, there'd be bbcode buttons in the quick reply box. I guess you just got vbulletin with the 4.1.4 release and never used any previous versions with the old editor. I get it now, you shoulda said you were new.

I speak one, I don't pretend to be able to speak four others. If you understood english you'd realize you're the only one arguing right now and I never insulted you. My mexican friend at my forum has this same problem, he sees words on the screen and somehow translates them into being insults when there's no insults anywhere to be found. Either post about marco's modification or don't post at all, I'm not getting banned because someone can't understand what I'm saying because I already know this will end up with me somehow being the bad guy because people are soft and don't want the race card pulled on them. So shhhhhh, and I'll do the same.

There are some issues.
When I've set Table Features to no, they still appear at quick edit and quick reply when replying to a PM.

They only disappear at quick reply of the forums.

Any hint?

Have you enabled code, php and html tags at your forums at all (bb code settings)?
Some should be disabled for security reasons. I only have code allowed, no html, no php.
So I have only the additional # (code tag button) here compared to yours.

There's no additional templates or edits it's just an updated to php codes itself so it "Should" work as I use an updated default vBulletin codes.

Great mod, installed and working perfectly! One more button I'd love to see though is the "Switch Editor Modes". Especially right now since I find the WYSIWYG editor to be a bit buggy, I find it helpful to look at the actual code when editing a post.

There are some issues.
When I've set Table Features to no, they still appear at quick edit and quick reply when replying to a PM.

About your question, Well I've made some codes to full integrate it with vBulletin editor itself but please note that the default vBulletin editor is still have some bugs so these bugs is not from me it's from the default editor.

Yeah you can. Find either .cke_skin_kama or .cke_wrapper in your CSS templates. Also you can check your stylevars; should have them there as well under editor.

Yeah that copyright is really an eyesore. If it was smaller it wouldn't be a big deal but to say "Forum Modifications" is a bit broad considering it's one plug-in. Oh well I'll wait to see what the next version holds before determining whether or not it's worth to keep for the footer copyright.

Yeah exactly like that. When would post for example this:

This is one line.

This is another line.

When I would try to edit it and save it , it would return saved as:

This is one line.This is another line.

This happens having the standard editor as your default editor via usercp and live topic ON. It's one of the Live Topic Plug ins causing the issue, I disabled a couple and the edit and saved worked and the format of the text remained. Turned them back on and the save was all in one line.

Solution I implemented was just to run a query and have all the members use the Enhanced editor as default as well as new members until I find a solution for people wanting the standard editor.

Thanks djbaxter, although that will make everyone use the Enhanced as their default it will not prevent the standard editor from being used in QE if they select the standard editor after I ran the query. I need them to be able to use the standard editor if they choose but force the Enhanced while in QE no matter what they have as their default.

Not showing for me either but that's a CKEditor issue - it doesn't show in the full editor either. Already reported to JIRA.

Well I have version 4.1.4 and it's not working at all, but I am not surprised. When I upgraded, I lost all my editor buttons on both posts and PMs and had hoped this mod might fix at least the posts. I am so upset right now and so are my very active large member base and I am at a loss of what to do. No one seems to know.

Try reinstalling and make sure you upload ALL files into the correct folders... and using the correct format (binary for images, ascii for all others).

If that doesn't work, try rebuilding your styles from Maintenance >> Update counts in ACP.

Actually... not quite, considering it is this add-on that is used. Horrible set-up to edit the styles of it, extremely over complicated for a quick reply/edit. and because VB F'ed up, I HAVE to use this advanced editor.

Neither of these is happening for me with this add-on active.

My guess is that it's in conflict with another one of your add-ons. Try disabling them one by one until the errors disappear. Then you can decide which add-on you need more, this one or the conflicting one.

MARCO would there be anyway to "force" enhanced editor ALL the time, not just with a query to force one time? I'm having issues with this mod and Live Topic for vb4 with standard editor, simple editor and enhanced editor seem to work fine while editing, standard editor seems to post messages in a string and not add brakes if any.

Thank you for your great mod, Marco. I have an issue though. I've only got "clickable smilies" enabled, but the mod is showing me the first icon on the left two times, no matter what settings I adjust, it always shows 2 icons, unless I disable the mod.

That in my eyes is not exactly true and I find it misleading. In my case I have only one mod installed developed by you.I also find it a direct slap into the face of the people that have put hard work into my site and a lot of work did go into it. Admin CP->Plugins and Products->Add/Import Product->Browse (find the file you downloaded in your computer)->Import.

Only thing extra is to click allow overwrite when you upgrade the file, if this is your first time installing, you don't need to click it. :D

Don't know exactly, do you have vbulletin 4.1.4 installed on your forum? this is only for that version, if you have an older version, you need to use Marco's other mod which was released for the earlier versions.
