Forum Requirements...good question!

So on my site, is there a way that when a user signs up that the first thing he has to do is post a thread in the "Introductions" forum? This would mean he can't post until he does the introduction post. I want the users to start introducing themselves so i thought this was a good way to do that.

Does anyone know how i could do that?

I think there is a mod or two but I cant locate them, I find that "forcing" members to do anything aggrevates them and leaves a bad taste in their mouth... You can try mod,,,that will redirect them to the introduce yourself forum.

Youll find that as you gain traffic, members will do it on their own..but you will also find that a good number will introduce themselves and just never come back and simply be lurkers regardless....

I use a minimum post count to view signatures mod combined with minimum post count to send PMs.. You will find that alot of users also just like to PM more active users and not post. The minimun number of post to send a PM. will encourage those users to post.
