Add poll to existing thread

Im really trying to rack up the number of dumb questions I ask......No seriously, Im trying to figure these polls out, havent used them yet, how can I or is it even possible to add a poll to an existing thread? Do I have to start a new thread?

At the top is 'Thread Tools' use 4th selection down 'Add a Poll to this Thread'
