Description:
Displays a stream of activities by users. There are two "streams":

Friend Activity Stream (Inside User CP/Under Navbar)
User Activity Stream (Inside Member Profiles)

Currently, this modification pulls the following stream items:

Threads (with Thread Prefixes)
Posts (with Attachment Thumbnails)
Visitor Messages
Group Messages
Group Joins
Albums
Album Pictures
Picture Comments
Announcements

Installation/Upgrade:

Upload all the files in upload/ into your vBulletin installation.
Install product-dmactivitystream.xml through your Admin CP.
Adjust the options located in vBulletin Options.

As much as I would like to do this, it's not likely. There is no timestamp on friendships, and I don't want to mess with the default database schema.

This modification was for custom paid work. The client did not need these features. However, I will probably add these in the future.

It is in the User CP, under "Networking". Probably possible to make it into a module for vBA - but its not likely that I'll be doing it. (Coders: feel free to interface with my code and do this. My code is OO.)

I would also suggest having the stream on a page by itself (no settings), users being able to filter activity displayed in the stream, adding avatars, icons for activities, as well as the option to add a link to the navbar next to New Posts...

Is it possible to exclude certain forums from the stream?

(Ex, friends of moderators can't see that they posted in a moderator forum)

Edit: I realize you've done this but what I also needed was to remove our "Anonymous" forum from the stream. I fixed this by adding a line in the query.

Edit2: Bug I've encountered:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method vB_Friendly_Url_Error::get_url() in /home/path/public_html/forums/includes/functions.php on line 6920

This only happens to one user and when I added them as a friend the bug stopped. When I removed them from my friends list it came back.

Make sure all the files have been uploaded and revert all the modification templates to their defaults. This is usually caused by an incorrect template edit (in this case, probably in one of the dm_activity_stream_*bit templates).

vBulletin currently does not store a date/time for when users become friends. Trying to add this functionality would get messy. Hopefully either: a) IB decides to add it, or b) I find an elegant way to do it.

Yes of course you're right but I just think it so, when sending a friend request to any user then, his/her "approve" it then, DATABASE does not work for that function? Example like this;

This replicates the "news feed" functionality only. It allows users to see what other users have been doing.

The "notification" functionality you are looking for is completely different in that it is about letting users know what other users have been doing to their content. This is not the goal of this modification.

The activity stream in the user control panel allows you to see what your friends have done. It only shows stream items from your friends.

Where exactly/what do you do to receive this error?

Try re-uploading all the files, freshly downloaded. Make sure you overwrite any old files. Then re-import the XML through the Admin CP.

I install the files.....then upload the xml file....then head to admincp options and double click on dmactivitystream
It is the first line at the top that says Enabled Stream Items ?? which i assume is normally a yes or a no.

Can i rename the file 'upload' and try again?

What do you mean rename "upload"? You upload all the files inside that folder into the root folder of your vBulletin installation. That is, put the "packages", "images" and "includes" folders into the same folder as "forum.php" is.

I DID have to upload the misc images to the theme images folder that I am using instead of the images/misc folder for vB. But that was an easy fix.

This by far one of the best to increase interaction levels on any forum. Humble thanks for your efforts. Now i have a few questions:

1) Can this be posted to the HomePage as well, to partly make a user have a feel as he gets on FB?

2) Can our own updates be disabled in notifications? It just clutters the screen to see what i have done and where, unless you have added this so that others could see what a user has done, all on his page.

3) Can the notifications be enabled for - every member, than just the ones who are on xyz's friend list? And possibly the option to choose between the two modes be given to the member - to be chosen from his profile page.

Thanks once again and would love to see you refine this further more with yet more lucrative updates.

You are probably running an old 4.x version of vBulletin. The easiest way to solve this issue is to upgrade (sorry, don't remember off the top of my head the oldest compatible version).

Didnt work out so welkl for me, so I uninstalled it.

And now my oem activity streams act like they have lost their layout or css or something.

Still trying to get this reverted back to oem.

Even the oem vb theme is effected.

Templates and files have been removed. CSS has been checked.
Everything worked great until I installed and then uninstalled. Now fully fubar.
