1. I just converted a phpBB3 forum to VB4. A lot of my users used bb color code in their posts but they used it like this test post instead of the name and now the whole code shows up in the posts. I have thousands of posts like this. Does VB support color codes or only name? any hack for this? I searched but could not find one.
My next issue is I used the proper BBcode color in forum descriptions but it is not working. Does VB not support bbcode in forum descriptions? Any hacks for this?
Thanks for the help in advance
Your example above actually worked. Is it possible that the problem is not the bbcode format but that the '[' and ']' characters got converted in the transfer process?

I'm sure there is at least one addon floating around for this.
Click the "Mods" tab at the top, select your vb version and search for something whcih sounds like this :)

I did a few searches such as "bbcode forum description" "bbcode description" "bbcode forum" and got no results that will work. thats when I came to the forums to ask.
You can use html in the forum descriptions, so it probably wouldn't be very hard to do a short script that does a one time conversion, or else just do it by hand (like <span style="color:#000000">Description</span>). (Maybe a search and replace could be done in SQL?)
