Mutilple Attachments

What is the chance of someone coming up with a hack that would let you add say up to three attachments per post. This is really needed, just look on this board where people have upoaded file after file in a thread for viewing. This would help everyone a great deal.

that was the real easy part...lol..now comes the hard part..lol..shouldnt be to bad i guess, but..im not all that crazy about messing with a secured and valid uploading system...

well, the more i get looking at this, and the way the tables are set up...i really dont know if a guy can get this to take off the way i would like it to...I mean, there is quite a bit to the thing other than the upload script itself (newthread, mod attachments..etc....)
but the more i got thinking about this, (and since i am pretty close invovled with the hack) Brad C's hack will cover a gallery type set up, where a person can do lets say 5 pics at a crack if you are thinking of using something like the upload for a gallery type deal web...we have a add on that would eliminate the need to use a section of your board for a gallery...
However, i will keep hammering on this thing. I already tried the "four" uploads, and had a little trouble, but this time around, i will be using just one more upload area...it shouldnt be all to confusing...i had some lady trying to get into our apartment, thinking it was hers for some reason, so that totally threw me off when i returned to work on this hack with the four uploads...lol...

the biggest thing, is getting a new upload table to work with the rest of the existing vb tables in attachment

to be straight up honest with you web, this one i do not think is going to fly. I tried at least 6 different approaches to it, and it all comes down to the tables, and how the pic is inserted.
To get the other stuff to display, is not the problem. It basically all comes down to where pic is inserted, and how to incorperate a new table so that new added upload will be accepted.
I pretty much admit defeat, and now crawl back under the rock from which i came...lol..

Yea I knew this would not be easy, it has been requested before and no one has atempted before I don't believe so thanks much for the effort.

you never know...alot of stuff ends up being a sleeping work in progress, and than sometime during work, it just pops in your head the way it should go altogether...

It had been requested before, a couple of times actually, but that was mostly for people that wanted to make a image gallery out of their threads..

I still think there is a way to pull it off, but not the way i have been going about it obviously lol...

Anyways, i will keep tinkering around with it, and maybe sometime it will all work out...hard to say...either way, it doesnt bother me to take a look at some of this stuff, and see if a guy can make heads or tails out of it...its enjoyable, and it beats anything that even remotely resembles work..lol..

Also, that powerball would be a nice chunk of change to have in the pocket as well....some retired couple, or somebody who uses money as asswipe will probably win it anyways, so i will stick to not spending money on somebody elses good fortune...lol..

How about instead an option to for users to select up to 5 attachments to add and hit like update or something, keeps their post, and loads the page with 5 attachment areas or whatever # they want, that way extra tables and code isn't used for users who won't use them. That would make it nice.

A person still needs to assign the areas that those pics would go in....and to also draw the added pics/etc out. From my above screen shot, you can see i tried the 5 upload set up, however, it printed the same picture out, 5 (or 4) times...because there is no defined area, to load the pics into.
I had 4 or five different tables set for that as well, than i decided to just stick with one upload instead, and than
create just one added row, named at2. This would enact the one upload to direct itself to the normal upload table, and than the other set upload to the path of row at2, however, problems occured when a person went to add the new thread with both attachments, and at one time, screwed the thread display up.....so...its a tricky sucker to work out...
