The [USML] Advanced Link Posting Options Version 1.1.0 allows you to prevent users from posting any kind of links in their signatures and/or in the forums (e.g. "www.vbulletin.com" AND "vbulletin.com") until they have reached a certain post count or a certain amount of reputation. This is basically a combination of a couple of modifications that have already been released, but I've added some new features.

Yes, this will also block email address as those are also links, and there is no option and probably won't be an option to exclude email addresses

Thanks for the reposnse HMBeaty, one more question, do you know where I can edit mods in general in the cp after they have been installed. This is why am asking, I have a mod that I change the message and I have had to change the message from the xml and re-install I believe somewhere inside vb template I should be able to edit the mod without uninstalling it.
Thanks

Hi. I had installed version 1.0.0 yesterday. Since then it was affecting my rss feed as not updating automatically. Is there some issue with that version.

Is the user posting the feed in a usergroup that has restrictions enabled?
Has the user posting the feed reached the required amount of posts and/or reputation to post links?

if they are posting:
[ img]http://www.urltoimage/image.jpg[ /img]http://www.urltoimage.com/image.jpgit see's that as a link. I'm not sure how to get around that at the moment. Your members are still able to post images as attachments though right (it SHOULD let them do that)?

i hope that you can fix the [img] code
may be if you put option for safe links so we can also exclude our site
some new user if they want to complain about links in my site they can put links refer to pages on my site which is safe to be published
and many many many thanks for this great product my site now completely safe from spammers

As always very useful mods..
I wish it can exclude links for images etc.
I don't use the post count and or reputation, instead I just make a generic reason so they don't flood the forum to meet the post count (I don't use reputation on site)
Thanks

Unfortunately, I am unable to reproduce this problem. So, you may have either 1.) a conflicting modification or 2.) your settings may not be correct.
To ensure your settings are set correctly...
Verify Enable Modification is set to Yes
Verify Enable Post Count Restriction (signature) is set to Yes
Verify the user(s) are not in the Excluded Usergroups (signature)To find out if there's a conflicting modification, the only thing you can do is disable each of your modifications one by one to see which one is interfering.
Also, be sure that they're posting links in their signature, and not at the bottom of their posts as some users try to get around things by doing that as well. If that's happening, that's what the other settings are for ;)

I have 2 small feature request if it is possible
1) Exclude internal links. I'd like it if new members could share things among the community internally. I think this could help conversations.
2) An option to prevent members from posting e-mail addresses. God knowing how troublesome those "bots" or sometimes real people are, who send this kind of message.
I think you're cute... blah...blah...blah.... Please e-mail me at
this@that.whatever
Phishing spam I call it.

It should already do this

OK. It was worth asking and thanks for confirming that the other feature should work too.
tagged (will apply once I've updated the site).
I think this will be replacing an older modification (a collection of 2 or 3 of them).

Installed & working
4.1.10 :)
Nominated mod of the month
Seriously, this is replacing 4 other modifications (maybe a 5th as I track things down)
edit:
Does this also prevent people from adding a Home Page in their profile? (If so, this may replace a 6th modification)
In the "Excluded Forums (forum) - Here you can choose which forums you want to exclude from the forum link restrictions." section how do you exclude forums? All mine are listed and I see no way to select them? And links can still be posted.

Great plugin (I really don't know why vBulletin doesn't offer such options in their default code though).
I did notice a rather confusing mistake though.
On the settings screen, under "Post Count Settings (forum)", the description says: "Set the minimum number of posts your users must reach before they are allowed to post links in their signatures. "
... but it should be:
"Set the minimum number of posts your users must reach before they are allowed to post links in the forums. "
Small mistake, but can be very confusing!

I love this mod and it is very helpful to reduce spam links, however, it is preventing new users from posting photos of their bulldogs.
Is there a way to remove the attach or img bbcode from being a part of this?

Perfect.
Simple, easy to install and should slow the huge amount of spammers down enough to catch them.
Thank-you!

You are right. If you installed this mod your Rss Robot Scheduled Task manager will not run. You will have to run your Rss feed manually every time. I had same problem i have to uninstall this mod.
