View Full Version : No permissions to post attachments?
We are having a few problems at The Product Forum, all member groups are unable to post attachments for some reason.
Has anyone experienced this?
I have made sure all forum and usergroup pemissions are correct, and having recently installed vBseo thought that this may have been the cause, but even when this was disabled it was a problem.
Can anyone help?

go to admincp > maintenance > diagnostics > upload. What are the results?
Also, what error are you getting when trying to post attachments?
This test's purpose is to determine if there are any vBulletin/PHP options you need to change for uploads to function correctly. To begin, simply attach a small file using the box below and submit the form. vBulletin will not save the attached file in any way.

Should I be looking anything else?

What do you mean? Did you upload something? What were the results? And you didn't answer my question about errors.
Apologies I misread your post. It says no errors.
The error message is a permissions message

If all your settings are correct, then try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php
define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

This didn't work either!

I would put in a support ticket then, since I can't think of what else to suggest.

Sorry I know this is an ancient thread, but was there any resolution to this? I think I have the same issue; users are able to post attachments on the forum and in blogs but in groups they are unable to add attachments, and I can not find a setting that has turned this off in groups.
Thanks

I would start your own thread about your issue since it is different than what this thread was about.
