Desperate Noob

ok so here is the quick low down; I have been a member and mod on a website that has aprox 6500 members.

The owner and operator is now very busy w/real life, and has given me the passwords to the vbull accnt to add as i see fit.

The only issue is that I have never done anything like this before, and am having real issues, and am feeling overwhelmed, as this is well out of my area of knowledge!

I have full access to the sites admin panel and on this site I have access to everything accept the control panel, so w/that in mind, would someone help an old man (36) out?

i just need someone to walk me through adding the chat box (can use skype if u like)....so sad i know :o

I don't know much about chat boxes but this thread: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=186457 is a discussion of different ones available. You can also search the "Mods" section of this site.

Also, have you read any of the manual here: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html?manualversion=30807500 ? I know, reading the manual is a PITA but it'll get you the basics. For instance, to install chat you probably will end up installing a "product", so it might help to look at the manual section on the product manager (which is under "Plugin System").

as it turns out I was actually looking for a shoutbox lol

I guess the next thing i have to figure out is which shoutbox is the best and easiest to use
