Does anyone have any of the old versions of ImpEx? I'm trying to find one of the first releases that has WebBBS in it. I have four archived versions of ImpEx, but there is a gap of a few years between two of them, and that is when the importer was added.

It is only a Tier 3 importer, so I need to rework it. Thing is, the most recent version of ImpEx has a version that is not compatible with a standard WebBBS installation. WebBBS was a single-forum setup. When the developer quit working on it, the final version was 5.12. After that point, it branched off into a couple of different releases worked on by others, and one of these branches added support for categories and forums.

From what I can tell via a couple of threads on the main vB forum, the WebBBS module for ImpEx was updated as it did not include the support for categories/forums (which was actually an "unofficial" version). Support has told me that it's been the same version since it was first included in ImpEx, but the forum thread I've read proves otherwise. If you go to the official WebBBS site these days, the final version is 5.12...and it's exactly as I remember it, a single-forum system.

I've had no luck working on the vb.com side of things. And given that I've received misinformation a couple of times presently and in the past with the importer (including one reply from staff saying that the importer would not import posts or threads), I just wanted to see if someone had a version of ImpEx that had the WebBBS module right after it was added, so I could compare it.

I do have a WebBBS to phpBB2 converter written in Perl but its success is rather limited. It worked fine on some older forums I had in the past, but this one does not work very well. I may ultimately end up writing my own in PHP, but don't have hours to put into it at this point.

If Impex can't convert it, then it's not going to work.
