Hello, everyone. I am new to vBulletin but would like to incorporate it into my WordPress blog. I am using this guide (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=242454) in combination with this one (http://depressedprogrammer.wordpress.com/2009/07/06/integrating-vbulletin-with-a-wordpress-theme/) but am not getting anywhere.

What I want to do is this: http://www.davedays.com/forums and http://www.bigblueball.com/forums

Thanks in advance for any help!

I would like to figure this out as well...

Best i did was use the same files i used to create my header and logo in the forum... so it kinda looks the same

see what i mean by looking here http://www.bootcamp4me.com

But i love that davedays site you posted... looks much cleaner than my attempt

Bigblueball has created a forum style that is similar to their blogs.

If you want to keep the same style amongst different aspects of your site, I would recommend getting familiar with vBulletins templating and style sheets and trying to port over the style you want.

If you do port over a style, please post it up on vborg with the permission of the original designers permission :)

Simple add the header code if you just want the header and modify the rest of colour scheme.

lol.. you make it sound so easy... I have to find my header info and then find out where to paste it in the vb4...

Just view your source code on your word press blog and then paste the header code (that you get from your word press blog source code) in your vbulletin header template.

You'll have to comment out (or delete) your normal vbulletin header though or you'll have two headers.

Ok.. im going to give this a shot.

My site is http://www.bootcamp4me.com by the way if you need it for reference.

So i will need to find my header info on my wordpress, copy it and paste it in the place where my vb4 header is.

If you can help me locate my header code for the site and vb I would greatly appreciate it.

Im not used ot working with php files.

Thanks in advance

I found the header html code using firebug... but that cant be it right?

I need some css to make the links inline and what about my blue bg?

I found my header.php file... is that what I should stick somewhere in my vbulletin file?

Does it matter that my VB is in a different directory than my wordpress?

Everything between the <body></body> tags is the HTML that needs to go in your VB templates, either the Navbar or Header.

Thanks to all who offered help on this. I was able to take my image slider and incorporate it into the top of my forum header easily. I've been trying to figure that out off and on for a week and a half!

Some extra info for you....

The header in vBulletin is located in admincp->styles &templates->edit templates->header. The header in WordPress is typically located in header.php in your theme directory.

You will need to make sure you close out any tags that might have been closed out through other includes for theme/style structure. That really just depends on the design of your theme/style. For example, some WordPress headers leave open tags which are later closed in the page or footer includes. Don't expect to just copy the header and not make any changes to the existing code because you may have to.

You will also need to either reference the style sheet or add any css to the receiving platform's stylesheet. Same goes for image and file references used in the headers.

If you are trying to load content from one platform's database to another (example:vBulletin member stats in a WordPress header), then it becomes more complicated.

I know this is somewhat of an older thread. I am curious if you guys could recommend anyone who provides a service that would do such a thing. Wrap my vbulletin install with my WP install.

I can do that for you! PM me or get my contact details from my website (in my signature). You can also see my portfolio there.
