First, yes, I have rebuilt search index multiple times.
The search works mostly, to be honest. There just seem to be some things that I search for that I know are there that aren't showing up in a search.
I know for one is a 3 character but I have my admin settings set for 3 character min. I had it, before, set to 2 character but changed it during testing.
Are there any suggestions available?

Look in your database - how many rows in your post table? How many rows in your searchcore table? And are there any errors in your error_logs (if you dont' know where they are, ask your host) around the time you rebuild the search index?

I'll find out on those. For some reason I've lost access to my phpmyadmin from the cpanel but I have a ticket in on that. The site has 682k posts if that helps.

It helps only in that the number of rows should be close, or more than, that same number of rows.
You didn't mention looking at the error_logs. You need to do that also.

~345,060 rows in searchcore
Trying to find out about the error_logs

If you have about half the number of rows, then my guess is your rebuild search index did not complete. So, look in that table and find where the rebuild stopped initially (what postid) and then start the rebuild again from that postid.

My search sucks too. Does the same thing yours is doing but I'm too busy with other stuff at the moment to fix it.
