The style probably uses a forumhead image so forum descriptions wont show. Try adding it to the forum name with a dash. Lugi - Description

Can anyone shed some light on this bug? The author site was hacked a while back and I don't think we will get an answer there.

I have the same problem. I resized forumhead.gif to the same height as newbtn_middle.png it changed a bit but it still has the same problem.

I managed to fix it by myself.

A lot of stylervars are removed in 4.1.10 and others had changed.

I have had this with other styles. I got rid of it by deleting the style that it switched back to. E.G. in your case just delete the default style and it shouldn't happen again.
