Hi all, got the news about the new update with the mobile compatibility... I've a couple of questions:
1. How is it different from using Tapatalk, an Android or an iPad/iPhone now?
2. Does it modify your current custom layout designs or does it default to a vB layout? In other words, do I need to do a complete redesign of a site SKIN for a mobile version?
Thanks
Jeff

The mobile feature in 4.1.2 is simply an additional theme designed for mobile devices. You can also opt to force mobile devices to use a particular skin (you can even make older devices use a different skin than newer ones).

Does anyone know how to turn on this feature in 4.1.2? We upgraded our development forum to 4.1.2 but we just can't find where to turn it on?

Try just switching the styles.

The mobile style has to be imported
Go to AdminCP=> Styles and templates=> Download-upload styles
Under "Import Style XML File", enter
./install/vbulletin-mobile-style.xml
Under "Title for uploaded style", give it a new 'mobile' name
Under "Parent style" choose an existing color scheme or leave it blank
Click "import"
Once imported, go to Settings=> Options=> Style & Language Settings
Select the new style under "Default Style for Modern Mobile Browsers"
It should now show up on your phone.
