We want to setup an internal forum - can I just use xampp for windows to install vBulletin 4 on an internal Windows XP machine or 2003 server?
I will only have about 50 users (all on same local domain) logging in.
Just wanted to check before I purchase software and hardware.
Thanks for helping a real newbie!

You may use your license on whichever site you want as long as you only use the license on one site.
This really is a question better suited for vbulletin.com. vBulletin.org deals with modifying your site, not licensing issues.

Sorry - I thought this was a pre sales area to ask questions about the software etc!
I don't really care about the lic side - I can buy more if necessary - was I asked was can I run it internal only on an XP or W2003 server using xampp or should I just build a linux server to host it internally from scratch.
Thanks,

You can really run it on any environment you choose - I've had success with running it on an old 512MB RAM Windows 98 I had in the corner. Of course, if you're looking between Linux and Windows I'd definitely go the Linux route just for simplicity.
