I didn't make a disable under options because it was just a quick mod. If you want to disable it you can do so two different ways.

1. Goto 'Plugins & Products>Manage Products>AMP New Thread Button in Showthread' and in the drop down to the right select disable.

2. Goto 'Plugins & Products>Plugin Manager>AMP New Thread Buttons' and uncheck the box and click 'Save Active Status' at the bottom of the page.

Either one will disable it.

Well, I got it running almost fine in IE7. The only problem is the bottom button doesn't align vertically to match the replay button when the moderation tools button is shown. You have to use the same padding for the top and bottom post new thread buttons, and position: releative on the bottom button to even get it to show in IE 7. Let me know if you figure it out.

will do. thanks for looking into it.

Actually, to be honest, I added the button on my site a while back but could never get it to work quite right, until I stumbled across your thread here. But, with your help, I got it at least partially working. Thank you. ;)

I lack terribly in the CSS stuff.

Use compatibility mode in IE8 to get IE7.

That was basically the same code I came up with a while back and it does not work right in IE7. See the attched pic.

I completely missed your 17 Mar 2011, 22:37 post :)

I actually tested in IE8 with compatibility mode on. Are you sure it's 100% the same?

Boofo
05-17-2011, 01:54 PM
That is how I tested it also. But I was logged in as Admin, too. It seems that Staff would see it like that. The Moderation Tools drop-down might be what is affecting it.

thehawkVB
05-17-2011, 03:24 PM
No, in my case I'm not logged in at all - OK in IE8 and OK in IE8 compatibility mode.

If I log in, yes, IE8 compatibility mode has the same problem. No problem if I'm logged in as non-admin. I can live with that since I use Firefox :)

Boofo
05-17-2011, 04:15 PM
I use Opera, but it still shouldn't be like that. Maybe I'm pickier but I think it should work correctly, not *almost* correctly.

ACP --> Plugins & Products --> Plugin Manager search for the following, AMP New Thread Button in Showthread

Then click on Edit, and replace the code in the field, Plugin PHP Code with the following:

if (THIS_SCRIPT == 'showthread' AND $show['member']){
$sessionurl = $session['sessionurl'];
$forumid = $GLOBALS['forumid'];
$post_phrase = $vbphrase['post_new_thread'];

$new_thread_link = '<div><a href="newthread.php?'.$sessionurl.'do=newthread&amp;f='.$for umid.'" rel="nofollow" class="newcontent_textcontrol" id="newthreadlink_top" style="margin-left:10px;"><span>+</span> '.$post_phrase.'</a></div>';

$find = '<div id="pagination_top"';
$replace = $new_thread_link.$find;
$vbulletin->templatecache['SHOWTHREAD'] = str_replace($find, $replace, $vbulletin->templatecache['SHOWTHREAD']);

$new_thread_link = '<div style="padding-left:145px"><a href="newthread.php?'.$sessionurl.'do=newthread&amp;f='.$for umid.'" rel="nofollow" class="newcontent_textcontrol" id="newthreadlink_bottom" style="margin-left:10px;"><span>+</span> '.$post_phrase.'</a></div>';
$find = '<div id="pagination_bottom"';
$replace = $new_thread_link.$find;
$vbulletin->templatecache['SHOWTHREAD'] = str_replace($find, $replace, $vbulletin->templatecache['SHOWTHREAD']);
}This will make the button only show for members.

If I get some time, I may re make a mod similar to this, but I would add where you could choose which usergroups could see the mod, it would be a option for you to select them.

I just downloaded it and it isn't infected at all. This was a problem on your server, not with this mod.
