alright so here is the speel.

we currently have a web admin who has lic. copy of vb 4.1, but we are going to remover him as our admin, and that would take our lic with him. ( since it is his ).

so we are gonna buy new lic monday, and build our new site, but i was looking through mods and dont seem to see what we are looking for, now reason for this post is to see if these mods do exist.

what we would need:

Some type of application form with admin control panel support.
Recruitment block with admin control panel support
Raid Planner block with admin control panel support
Gallery block

and a portal block ie gives a portal front page with Blocks on left or right side and middle.

basically standard wow mods. we have used phpbb in past, with all these mods, but like the style and smooth running of Vbulletin.

Just because your admin is leaving doesn't mean you loose your site, the licence you buy will basically allow you to "renew" your site form where it currently is.

If its hosted on your server and you have control over it and it is your data, just his license, you will just need to purchase a new copy, then upload via FTP (allow over right with the same version number you are running now) so that you over write any of his files with license numbers embedded on them. No the image files, just he code files.

That would be my recommendation. Good luck!

Thank you, now is that license number embedded in every file ? or just a few main php files.

All of them do, they're all copyright so all of them contain the notice at the top, with the license number.

BACK UP your files and data base, first. Then ftp your new files, select allow overwrite. Make sure the package you download from vbcom is the exact same version number. If you take a good back up and your confident, you can chose the latest build. Upload the latest build allow overwrite, then run the upgrade. php script. I would not recommend this if your switching major version numbers like 3.x to4.x, unless you know what your doing and take TWO back ups first. LOL

Oooh BTW, make sure you delete install.php from your install directory, BEFORE you upload. and change your config file to match your old one, then rename it config.php instead of config.new.php
