I have always used various forums and review sites to assist me back when I used to invest in PTC/HYIP sites. I now own a PTC site of my own, and am looking to build a forum around the popular online niche of 'making money', except something that's unique; something that's different, something that works. I'd like to get some of you guys from vbulletin.org to either help or become mods on my forum, which I have already installed and purchased a domain for. My partner and I have already begun constructing the actual forum part of the site, topics, layout, settings, etc. What we need help with are couple things. For one, I would like an advertising system similar to that of talkgold.com, where advertisers would pay our site/forum to advertise for them. I cannot find anything like it in vbulletin 4.1 mods. Second we need someone, or more than one person, to help with the basis of the site. I'm not looking for a coder or designer or anything like that, yet anyways, but I'm looking for people that believe in the idea that a person can generate a fairly good source of income online and has ideas that could help with our site, and making it unique. Anyone that knows any mods or add-ons, etc, and has advice on what they'd like a see on a forum centered around making money, is invited to join us as additional partners on this site. If anyone has any ideas feel free to post them on here, or if you're really serious about this and would like to talk, my email is cosmith22@twcny.rr.com and gets forwarded to my blackberry for immediate response. Thanks guys, and thanks vbulletin community in general for building the best forum out there.

"where advertisers would pay our site/forum to advertise for them. I cannot find anything like it in vbulletin 4.1 mods". the built in advertising system in vb is made for that purpose, you just simply post their ads and set the perimeters for them to show, they can be per click or in certain places or if users are in a certain group or from a certain place?. its basically the best self advertising system out there, the only limit is the actual spots to show their ads, and that could be expanded with template edits i would think

If it is possible to design the template so that the ad system is similar to that of talkgold and etc, I need someone to do that, or a template that includes that pre-made. Sidebad ads by the way, I now see that I forgot to post it in my original post. The problem with using sidebar ads on the already-setup advertising system is that it doesn't show up on every page of the forum, just from the main forum screen from what I know.

this might help. go to your board and do some screen shots. then edit them to show where you want ads to show on every page. that will help who ever looks at it, I have no idea what talkgold is :>

There is a addon you can get/use to show your sidebar on everypage so your ad will also be show on everypage )as the sidebar will be there)

yep navbar everywhere never used it but I think if you want ad controls. you would have to kidnap the code for header ads 1 and 2 and create them in the side bar, or widgets, so you would have the controls over the ads permissions, if you just added copy's, same ads would show up in both places, this is tricky but I'm sure it could be done in some slick way, the only other option would be a custom mod, and that would need to be posted in the appropriate category in here .
