I wanted to have a "Boating Links" section in my section widget so that when a user clicked it would open up a normal page (not requiring another click) for my users. I would be fine for it to open up an article containing links, but it doesn't make sense for them to have to click again after they have selected "boating links" from the sections widget.

vbulletin's response:
This requires customized code (i.e., 'hacks', plugins, queries, or template modifications). We can't offer official support for customizations, modifications, or for forums running modified code. We do however have a customization site and forums with people that may be willing to help you with this.

Please visit https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/ and ask for help there in the appropriate forum. You will need to register on those forums and enter your forum email address on the following form in order to get full access:

So how do I do this?

thank you...

I think I posted on your thread over on vb.com asking for a bit more clarification on what you want. You want to click on the Section and go to a page that has links? Links to other articles in that section? If so, somewhere on here I posted the basic code for a PHP Eval page to list all artilces in a section. Sorry, but I didn't save a link to the post, but you can try a search for it.

You may want to see if there is a widget that perhaps does something like what you want.

Thanks for the reply Lynne,

I want to click on the section and have it open a page (it actually could be an article with links in it). The links will not be to other articles but will be links to outside sources.

So either the article or page will just have a list of links that users can see.

That page will be the only thing in that section.....

If that page is going to be the only thing in that section, then why can't you just write an article that only has a bunch of links in it and set Full Display in Section Page to Yes and that's it? You can even make the page available in the subnav (right below Home in the navtab) by setting Make available for subnav to Yes in the article, then going to the Home section > edit > add it to the subnav

Lynne sorry about having this topic going in two different places, but maybe doing that will help others should they have the same question..

Your suggestion works great, I just didn't know how to do that or that it would behave how I needed it.......Thank you!
