Very good software and everything is great except few issues that require fast fix.

1. When you register for this website the instructions "to be shown as licensed" are wrong. They fail to inform the user has to add this forum to the Authorized Forum list. There is not a single reason to apply permissions to something you're trying to apply for.

2. The software has a major bug when running on IIS7. When you edit all CSS items in two groups (vbcms and common) you receive a nice "The request filtering module is configured to deny a request where the query string is too long." Bug like that should never exist in version 4 of any software.

3. The installation is clearly missing full backup instructions with the explanation of folder structure.

4. The documentation talks about not being able to run the Archive function under IIS. Can you please tell me what is so special about IIS that will not run the archive function. In software there is no such thing as "can not".

5. It is very hard to edit the color for the "Post New Thread" and other buttons. I was not able to find it in documentation and I do not know how to do it.

6. Documentation is missing instructions on how to setup all well known vb plugins on all web servers. It's a must.

I found these errors/issues within 2 hours of the installation, that's why I think they should be fixed. Those are just suggestions. It's the best forum software out there.

it's best to bring up these concerns at vbulletin.com

1. Are you sure about that, it's been a few years since I resisted on vb.com or .org, but this info is posted at the .com

2. That question belongs at the .com

3. What part do you need help with, there are several pages of info on backing up your forum in the docs (http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/maintenance_phpmyadmin_backup).

4. That question belongs at the .com

5. http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/stylevars_intro

6. Why would it show that, it's up to the user to find out which plugins they would want, doing a google search will find several opinions on what plugins to use (http://www.google.com/search?q=what+vbulletin+plugins+should+i+use&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a#sclient=psy&hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=OKJ&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&source=hp&q=suggested+vbulletin+plugins&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&pbx=1&fp=241062ed1d424d73). vBulletin.com will never suggest plugins, they are in business to make sure the core product works as described, you can find the plugins you want here at the org.

Please be patient, you said you've only messed with it for 2 hours, vBulletin is great but can't be learned in an afternoon ;)

Thanks for the info. Sorry for posting here those that belong to .com

3. The software is missing one big button called: "Backup". You click it and it backups 100%. You click restore and it restores the entire forum. Database/Custom Files Folders/etc

5. Please show me where on that page do they talk about how to change the color of the button.

6. There is a big reason for VB to show everyone what is possible with the software. There is tons of misinformation on the web telling people things are not possible with IIS server. Even the VB documentation has that kind of information there related to archive.

No problem.. maybe "it should be posted at the .com" was a bit harsh, just saying you seem to be asking about the core vBulletin files, so the question belongs over there. The Org is for modification questions, plugins, styles etc..

3. all backups should be made at the server level, this is true with any script

5. sorry, I misunderstood ya. That would be in the actual ftp files for the style, found inside the images/ folder

6. I don't have any info on that other than vBulletin will run on IIS just fine as long as you have php and mysql configured

5. This one is giving me hard time, because I did not find the images for the button. I was hoping they have gradients, but I do not see an entry where you can modify the color in the styles manager. Version 4.
