Advertising on the sides?

I want to advertise on the sides of my forum but the only options to put ads are here:

What do i need to do?

Also, i should have 3 square ads at the bottom of my page, but only 2 show up. Sometimes only 1 and in different locations.

no use the dropdown menu that says global it will allow it in forum side block area or in forum posts it wont allow it on from page though; the that template could be edited I suppose to change the add positions, but I have never tried it

the pic you show has two ads in the header and one below navbar and one above navbar, of course you can also run ads from google and they would go just above the navbar ad and footer ad space

now you could make a widget to ad to the sides of your content. but wouldn't have control over who sees it all would see it, as far as the other not showing its probibly how they have been setup to show to class, user, date, or other prerequisites
