How to automatically turn forums off each day?

My site needs to be turned off for a few minutes a day to allow for backups. Is there a addon that allows me to turn vb off on preset times?

You will probably want to write a real cron job to do this. If the site is off, the Scheduled Tasks won't run, so you can't set up a Scheduled Task to do this.
