Banner Rotation for 4.1.0

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if any one can help me with the STEP-BY-STEPS and CODE to make a rotational banner for the header. Like an Ads banner in the header.

I am using vBulletin 4.1.0

Oh by the way, I tried alot of the banner rotations (for the older versions) on here, but it doesn't seem to be working at all. So maybe there is a slightly different coding for 4.1.0

i just installed it now.

The uploading of the files and importing of the xml files worked.

Just having problems in uploading images for the banners as i can't find the step-by-step guide for it.

Any help?? :confused:

To upload the banners you will need to use the FTP. You can upload the banners where ever you want them to be on your server. I usually put mine in a directory called banners. Then when you go to set up a banner you will need to specify the url to the image where it says Images/Flash. Give the full url like http://www.mysite.com/banners/mybanner.gif.

I have just FTP uploaded the images into 'banners' folder on my server.

now in vBulletin admincp
I go to Rotating Banner Style > Manage Banners > .. then i start to fill it out

Enabled: Yes
Name: Test
Position: Position 2
URL: www.client-site.com
Image: www.my-site.com/banners/1.jpg

Width 480
height 60

Everything is unchecked
everything else: blank

Save!!

When I refresh the page, nothing shows up :(

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

You do not have to set the width on it. I think that part is for the flash banners only. The problem is you have to look at the dates on the banner in that page. The top date is the start date and its probably a day ahead, so just set it to the 11th of jan and click save. that should make it show.

Oh yeah, i did set the dates 2-3 days before today - forgot to mention it in the above post.

Yeah, still having the problem of nothing shown :( can you send me a screen shot of your settings.

Also, What is : the Horizon (0) and Vertical (1) Banner List

I've honestly never been able to get the vertical and horizontal ads placements to work, so personally I do not worry about them. But in order to make the mod work you will need to mes with it. You have to read the instructions that comes with it, you have to modify the templates where you want the ads placed or else nothing will show.
