How to do this: answering a few questions causes usergroup promotion?

Does anyone know if there is a modification (free or commercial) that allows me to add the following function:

Answering a number of quiz questions gives additional usergroup promotion.

I want to restrict a few subforum to members that have correctly answered a few questions.
I assume the best approach is to use an additional usergroup to give access permissions. And to somehow let a correctly answered quiz/questions cause promotion to this usergroup.

Does anyone have an idea how to do this?

You would need a mod for that or someone to code it for you. I do not think there is a mod that already does that.

I was afraid of that. I have been messing around with some ancient hacks, but ended up with nothing.

There is an old quiz hack but it does not promote users to a new usergroup if they answer questions correctly. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=83130&highlight=quiz someone said they installed it on 3.8.6 and it worked ok, but you would not be able to use it on vb 4.0 most likely.

Yeah I can imagine it does not work. The hacks are pretty old to begin with, you would probably have to update them to the latest vbulletin before trying to get them to work right. The one you gave a link to may have always been buggy somewhat, so its kinda a crap shoot lol. Your best bet would be to hire a php coder.
