I have uploaded a favicon.ico to everywhere I can think of... and days later... I don't see the icon at all. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts or specific instructions??? I found a mod here on vb.org that had a link to a page where I could upload a 16x16 picture and it would convert it to a .ico file. I deleted the existing favicon.ico and uploaded the new one. Saved to the home directory, images directory, and everywhere else I could think of... but days later... NOTHING. Help???

strange... I have restarted a few times... cleared cookies and cache... and still haven't seen it. Guess I will have to ask members if they see it.

Try adding your own site to your bookmarks. If you already have, delete the bookmark and re-add it. I've had the same problem before and this fixed it for me. As stupid as this sounds, something else to try is this. Where the favicon would show in your browse (probably a paper looking icon right now), click and drag that to the middle of your browse window, which should reload the site. Sometimes that has "fixed" whatever the cache issue was from it displaying in my browser.
I'm in firefox and see your favicon fine.

Thanks. Appreciate everyone's help. I still don't see it and have tried all of the above suggestions. Oh well... as long as all my members see it (I assume they do since you all can see it)... I guess I am fine with it.

Well, I verified that a couple of my staff members can see it too. So, I guess it is just my laptop. No big deal. I can get over it. lol. Thanks again for everyone's help!

IF you still have this problem, you can try to go to http://example.com/favicon.ico or http://example.com/forum/favicon.ico and refresh the page a million times, until you can see the updated one :)
It always works for my browser to cache the new one ;)
Thanks & regards.

If your old favicon was named favicon.ico AND your new one is named the same thing, it will take a long time to change to the new one especially if you're using IE. The only way IE picks up icon changes immediately is if the icon name changes.

Try to check the spelling of your new uploaded favicon.ico it will not ovewrite your current favicon if you uploaded different name.
