Include private message body in email notification

Apparently this is a default setting, but it doesn't seem to be working correctly for me. I want the private message body to be shown in the email notification. From what I have read I need to edit the pmreceived phrase. I have tried to add $plaintext_message, but that doesn't work.

I'm using vb 3.5.

I don't think that phrase existed in 3.5 yet. There's an old 3.0 template edit that let you include it in the body. But I don't know if it was compatible with 3.5.
