View Full Version : How do you set a maximum WIDTH size for forums?

I just bought a new tv for my pc (40 inches), what I've noticed is that on the majority of forums I go on to, what happens is the actual forums themselves don't stretch out just the background color on the sides.

So to me for example on this site whilst I'm typing this on my screen I see roughly:
25% background color on left
50% forums in middle
25% background color on right

Obviously a maximum width is in place to stop the forums getting stretched out to fit screen. On my own site however is not the case it stretches out and looks terrible. How I can fix/modify this please?

Thanks alot, that helped with learning all about VB fields, I've been reading it all.

However I didn't find anything there that clearly explained how to setup a restriction on a maximum width for the forums.

I've been tweaking the fields in here:

Pixels don't seem to do anything at all. Only percentage works. For my monitor 50% works fine, but on others it looks weird.

Ideally I'd just like 100% with a pixel restriction. Is that possible?

Thank you.

same problem for me.
a hack would be cool with a widget on witch the visitor/member can set his prefered page width.
