Hello
I`m running 3.8.3 and want to update to 3.8.6.
I`m not sure if it is the right Way to upload all Files of the downloaded Source and run the Upgrade-Script.
My simple Question:
I changed the Code in a few Templates, I installed a few Add-Ons and Plug-Ins.
Will an Upgrade from 3.8.3 to 3.8.6 work without touching my changed Templates like Header/Footer/Showtread... ?
Can I simply follow the Upgrade-Guide ?
Some minor fixes would be no Problem, all my installed AddOns should work on 3.8.6.

You *should be fine going from 3.8.3 to 3.8.6 without needing to change a thing, be sure to backup and test a post etc before opening the forum back up just to test.

Hello and thanks for you answer.
I`m a bit confused:
If I upload all Files of the downloaded 3.8.6 "upload" Folder, for example my old "images" Folder will be overwritten ?
That means all later installed smilies, avatars etc. are gone after an upgrade ?
Which Folders/Files are necessary for a upgrade ?
Can I Folder like "images" keep the old ?
Thanks

From 3.8.3 to 3.8.6 I would skip uploading the images folder although regardless you can download a backup of you images folder and simply overwrite again after the upgrade, always more than one way to skin a cat (just an old saying, I would never as I love cats :D).

Thanks, but the images-Folder was just an example.
What about my Changes in CSS-Styles,Languages,Costum BB-Code,Templates and so on.. ?
Sorry for the Questions, but I want to be sure to have no bad surprises and do all the work again.
Is there anywhere a simple Changelog where I can see which Files changed from 3.8.4 to 3.8.6 so I can upload only these changed Files ?

No, you would only ever need to worry about images being replaced, which you can easily backup first. All other style information is in the database. You need to upload and replace all other files. CSS, Languages, BBCode and templates are not part of the file system.
