I have a forum that I've sealed off new threads being started in unless it's admin. Is there a way that I can start threads in that forum as any of my users? Through searching I found a mod called "post by proxy" that seemed to allow this but it was only available for vB3 and I need it for vB4. Any other mods or recommendations for this?

If not I'm thinking my only other options is if a users thread is approved for that forum is to have them create the thread and then moderate threads in that forum?

Or move a thread to it?

Basically it's for an award forum though and I'd like to just be able to post a thread as that user without them knowing yet...

Thanks!

What we do here on vb.org in the Articles forums is have the user post their thread in the Article Submission forum. Only Staff can see threads in that forum. We read them, sometimes post comments back, and then when we approve them, we move it to the correct Articles forum. Regular users cannot post directly into any of the Articles forums.

That's a good thought. I'll try to think how I can implement something like this rather then post as them. Although it would be a nice feature for admins : )

There are two AFAIK mods that allow you to log in as any user. When you're logged in as that user you can post as him, read his PMs, whatever user can do anyway.

One is from Valter (VSa), other is from Abe. Valter's is much better in my opinion and is more stable, more bug free and Valter is still here and code new things and bugfixes.
