vB-OS (vBulletin Open Source) is the independent site that the developers have set up and been working on since the release of 2.1. I'm proud to announce it to you guys as a some-what ready site (download links etc. are not 100% yet), but mostly ready for opening to the world. Here, you can gain support, post suggestions, view our change logs, progress, report bugs (using the latest release of vBPT), etc. And, even better, submit code! The idea was that we may eventually build the site up to be a non-official host of future vBulletin projects (IB or non-IB) that are open source to provide with SVN (maybe) and support with a bug tracker, etc.

You can view this here:

Feel free to register, say hi, and what not. :)

Registration is turned off?

If it was, it's open now. Are you still getting an error?

I registered just now with no troubles. Well, I kept putting in mismatched passwords, but that's from my drinking too much coffee.

I would guess they're expecting this to expand into it's own thing, much like vB.org did. Just imagine if modifications were all on vB.com.

This allows us to update, manage, and utilize vB PT to the fullest. We set it up as needed, with features and settings as we want it. That's hte basics of it.

A few questions have been risen with about the purpose of vB-OS.com. Here's the reasons it is open to the public and a few notes on its purpose:
All official releases will be posted here, at vB.org.
Official support will be here, at vB.org. Of course, if you post in any of the forums over there, we will gladly help.
Bug reports (posted here or there) will be placed into the bug tracker (PT powered) located at vB-OS.com.
Code submissions will be placed in the bug tracker at vB-OS.com for review and submission by a developer.
More "wiki" like instruction manuals will be hosted on vB-OS.com
More organized (with PT) bug, feature, and task tracking is available at vB-OS.com, rather than here (as it is all thread based here)

The purpose was not to drive traffic away from vB.org, but to open our internal procedures to everyone else, in the spirit of open source. Once vB.org's servers allow uploads of larger files again, I will be getting the official download up again in the release thread.
