Any way to expand this so it can also work on individual posts within a thread? That's a task that is more frequent.

Try the administrative tab at the top of the thread and not the moderation at the bottom right.

hi

yes i use custom style
Moderators must have permission to move threads.
Check that the following code is present in FORUMDISPLAY:

{vb:raw template_hook.inlinemod_thread_bottom}

Also check that is present in SHOWTHREAD:

{vb:rawphrase move_thread}

Try to use the default style.

:confused:

Why is that needed if you're moving it to recycle? One would assume that your recycle forum is not open to members anyway.

Any news for that option?
It will be nice to have this option too, to move only one or some post to trash into New Thread (created in trash)

Why do want it to auto close unless your trash forum is open to everyone, other than that your making unnecessary calls.

:confused:

Because you can do it in one move instead of selecting the move thread and scrolling to the forum you want to move it too ie recycle forum.

As much as this hurts to say, I have to agree with djbaxter on this. That is like closing the gate after the horse it already gone.

lol I know it doesn't seems logic, but the lock icon does prove to members that the thread is already closed. Its not for me but for idiots that send me emails saying they cant post in some areas cuz they don't have permissions set!

Another thing, I got a forum that has been around for 8 years from phpbb software and old management did like to close threads so the biggest forum here is the recyble bin. And for SEO i keep those threads visible to public as there is a big increase in traffic, Im doing my best to teach moderatos to not close just simple threads and just leave them alone until they die old (or until it someone makes a bump).

My archive goes from 2002 to 2010 and there is a lot of threads there that are important, like i said, and old admin though that by closing threads the database was going to be smaller and lower bandwidth etc etc. Very stupid! So i have to deal with this and that's why I want threads to be close automatically.

Simple suggestion to add the option, if not mods will still close them manually no problem!

On my forum, trash subforum is open for members (only to see, not to post new posts).

When some user make mistake (stupid post, spam...) in some thread, my moderators move that post into trash podforum in new topic with Title that explain what was the mistake and why is that post in trash.

So, I need option to move individual post(s) into new thread in Trash subforum too, not just to move threads

From the initial post:

Where to set option:
Settings-> Options-> General Settings-> Recycle Bin Forum

It's quirky (the author of this add-on seems averse to adding another category for his mods so he slips the options into existing Admion CP Options tabs) but it's there.

This is exactly how I handle trash, spam, and stupid...it goes into the open
trash bin so others can see, and maybe learn by example...if they see what
happens to stupid, then maybe they will not become stupid, and if they do,
then they know where their stupid spam will end up....and of course
search engines can index this also....

Ok why not just delete them ?? cant you just delete them and it would do the same ....well I have an issue due to a mod that wasnt working properly i have a ton of forum threads to a forum name /id that doesnt exist , the birhtday mod that made a thread on ppls birthday etc ... wel i went to admin cp to Remove Orphan Threads/This function removes all threads that belong to forums that no longer exist. but that didnt work . it wont even let me access it to delete them . DO you think this might do the trick ??That would not be the same function of removing physically?

One feature I like to request is the option to be able to move it back to the thread, it was moved from to be placed into the "Recycling Bin"

This mod is useful for my co admins and moderators to place a questionable thread into the recycling bin, but would be more useful for a feature to put it back where it came from, if we decided to let it remain on the forum.
