Would like to add the function to allow/deny usergroups permission to add the "Home Page" to their profile.

Right now anyone can do that and some forums gets tons of spammer just to post their "Home Page" on their profile.

I was thinking to add
"Can add Home Page" Yes / No to the General Permissions under the group manager.

Also could be used as an up sale for premium membership on certain forums.

Has anyone seen this mod yet?

How's the spammer to know before registering that they can't post links to their homepage?

If you're looking to diminish automated ("spambot") registrations, the mod you request wouldn't have an effect on this.

I do not mind they register I mind them posting outside links. You can disable the use of signatures so I would like to disable this option too and keep it for Premium Membership people.

If no one else chimes in soon I'll work on this. I have a version for vBulletin 3.x already but it won't work on 4.x.

I have begun working on the 4.x version... having a few issues... will be 4 or 5 days I guess, but don't hold me to that.

If someone else wants to try it please feel free to step in.

no this is fine for me, I am in no hurry.

For now I just comments out the input box and set the homepage link in the database to enter my website url. It will not allow editing, amazing enough with no signatures and no home page link input my spam user sign ups are reduced from 15 to 20 a day to 1 every day or 2. No need to edit their profile, just ban them. I did also change the title of banned users from Banned to something more pleasing to the reading so it looks like they are still members of the site incase someone does hit their profile.

Amazing how quick the word gets out with the spammers
