Your database isn't running... or your settings are wrong in /include/config.php

Database is running but I am not so sure what it is. I am thinking it may not be fully propagated yet. I just got the VPS server with hostgator.com

I need to know because every now and again I click a link on my site I get the error page. Something is definitely wrong and this has never happened to me when installing this forum. It was a good size forum but someone deleted it and I am so upset I can barely work on this.

MySQL can't connect (through socket) is a server issue and you need to talk to your host about it.

See this page for the causes of this error: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/cantconnect

Thanks so much for your help. HostGator.com is fixing the mistake.

For some reason mysql is not staying live and after restarting it it will shut down. This sucks.

Next time your moving to a new server snag the new IP, modify the HOST file and preview to make sure nothings wrong before you switch over DNS ;).

Then you can avoid issues like this in the future and that also helps you stay on top of things some hosts simply do not have common sense I'm sad to say so be careful with your site!
