Hello Together,

i want to setup a testforum from our existing forum. I read i only need to copy all files and copy the Database. Change config.php and change the URL in admincp. I do so, but i couldn't login into admincp because the testforum connects to the "wrong" "old" URL why?

Could you help me?

Update the test sites URL

AdminCP > Settings > Options > Site Name / URL / Contact details

Forum URL
URL of your forum.
Note: do not add a trailing slash. ('/')

Make sure that is updated ;).

Quick and easy way? Go back to your current site, close the forum, now change the URL (leave that screen open do not navigate away) now save/export a copy of the database.

Now change the URL back since you still have the page open and reopen your live site, restore the DB into the test site and your back in business with admin access and correct URL path ;).
