MARCO1 Hide Quick Reply From Closed Threads
With Excluded forums
And
Usergroups permissions

Description :

It was an idea from vb3 and this idea I was use it in vb3 but today I've upgraded my forums to vb4 so I don't found this Mod because I need it for some MODERATORS are replying to an old closed threads or any new closed threads, And that's shouldn't happen, The closed threads shouldn't have the ability to reply

Note 1 : You can choose a usergroup that will be able to reply to any closed threads
Note 2 : You can exclude any forum that will be able to reply on any closed threads from admins or moderators.

Installation :
Just upload .xml file from your admincp

This should work with all vb4 versions "The old versions and the next versions"

Screen-shots in attachments

Note : I'm going to work on updating my free Mods, But I want vBulletin to finish all of the coming new features so I can update my Mods to be compatible with these new features and these new major edits.

Translations :
You are free to translate this Mod WITHOUT removing the copyrights
Note for Arabic users : Don't translate this Mod, It's already translated.

It happened to me too. Maybe a case of a 0 where should have been 1?

I'll wait for the fix anyway. Thanks

Same here, after installing it I was unable to post a quick reply on any Thread.

can you at least post here to say if you are continuing the development of the product or no please?

PS: sorry for the double-post but if not so you wouldn't see the message

Same issue. Though members could start new threads. more than one member accused me of 'shutting' them out. Where are we up to Marco?

Definitely not working on 4.1.8 - prevents posting on any thread. Uninstalled.

With the last version of vbulletin, this mod, is now allowing any user group but ADMINS to reply to threads that are being created. I just had this issue on my forum where a user created a thread, and I replied, and when he tried to, it wouldnt let him.

I created a new user and duplicated what he did, and the same thing for the new created user.

So, I disabled this mod among others, and when I got to this one, it was the source of the issue.

Once disabled, we could reply to them.

Easy Fix for the issue with no one can reply at all:

in the plugin "MARCO1 New reply funcstions" find:

if (!$thread['open']){
change too

if (!$threadinfo['open']){

I'd also like to see this mod expanded so the permissions includes "Can open threads" because as it is now moderators who can't reply could easily open the thread to reply.

It works very well. I agree that this should have been a standard option on vBulletin. Closed should mean Closed! If a staff member needs to add something to a closed thread or reply for whatever reason, they merely need unlock the thread to do so. They can then re-lock the thread if desired. We had one SMod that seemed to have a bit of trouble remembering to check the 'closed' status of threads before posting. She's no longer an SMod, but these things can happen.

Thanks MARCO1 and OcR Envy!
