Hi,
How do i reset my password in phpmyadmin? i know to go to user table but it wont allow me to type in my new password but instead has something like a char32 code. How can i change my password so it is in that code. is there a website thats allows words to be converted into char32?

UPDATE <prefix>user
SET password = MD5(CONCAT(MD5('new-password'), salt))
WHERE userid = X
...with 'X' being your userid number and <prefix> being your table prefix.

Thanks for your reply but I dont understand it. You will need to go through step by step. If i go to the user there is no option to change the password type to MD5
Thanks

You asked for the query to use in phpmyadmin. That is the query. But honestly, if you aren't familiar with running a query, then you shouldn't do it. You better backup your database beforehand if you do try it.
Why are you doing this? Why can't you reset your password the normal way?

Ah this is to run via sql? I cant do it normally as my vb is integrated with another script. Your answer wasnt what i was expecting so thats why i couldnt understand it. I was expecting a link to a site that converts passwords into char32 code.
Thanks, ill give it ago
