Today's Post Widget

How would I create a widget that I can put front and center on my CMS that show's something like 20 posts. I essentially want it to show today's posts, but would like it to put read posts below unread.

Try looking at a couple of add-ons that do something similar such as this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=235841) and this (https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=236403). Both those add-ons do stats, one on the forum and one in a widget, so maybe you can combine some of each to make your add-on.
