Hi,
I have 2 membrs on my forum who actually told me that whnever they make new thread and put something as text it never shows up............ which i checked and that is the case.
For Example: lets say if they put in 500 words only 20 words will show up and tht's all. i tried to fix it via admincp but wasn't able to figure it out. can anyone tell wat's wrong or what am i missing ????

Are those two users in the same usergroup? Is it a certain word that the text stops at?

Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Are the full posts in the database? Do you know what the words are that are after the text that shows up?

What shows up at Maintenance > Diagnostics > Problematic Webserver Modules

In maintenance it says....
module loaded = NO
AJAX unicode issue = NO

And my other questions?

I've seen this happen once before and it was a mod causing the problem. The full posts were not being entered into the database because of the mod.

First disable vbseo via the vbseo control panel (ifyou use it). Then disable your modifications/plugins.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

Now try a post with a ' in it.

Did this just come out of nowhere? what I mean by that is have you recently upgraded... if so it could be a style issue if not as Lynne asked what mods could be doing this i.e. my same question with mods have you recently upgraded one or installed a new one? Any custom template edits made in your style?

We will need a little more info to help you properly remedy this ;).

So your telling us this problem has been present since your forum was installed with the default theme? That's a new one for me but will take your word for it, the most important thing is ensuring you get this fixed.

First try this:

AdminCP > Maintenance > Update Counters >

Rebuild Styles
This function allows you to completely rebuild all style information. This is necessary after a major upgrade, or if you have manually edited any of the 'special' templates.
Check For Styles With No Parent

Renumber all templates from 1 Note: this option requires that your MySQL account has ALTER, CREATE and DROP privileges.
If you are not sure, do not use this option!

Set both to yes and rebuild your styles.

IF that does not work create a new default style, are the issues present in that newly made style?

Try installing another forum under a new directory and see if you're experiencing the same situation. If that is the case. It could be your webhost.

Talk to your host. The only time I have seen an issue like that (and dealt with one very recently), it was a setting on the server.
