Is my site too... chaotic looking??

I've gotten mixed reviews about my site and am not sure if I should stick with the graphic and CSS styles or not. The majority of people say they like it, but I am not sure if they are just being nice.

My goal was to make something that is different and stand out from the typical website. Something with a more modern style and colors. Some times I wonder if my use of such contrasting colors is too much? Particularly for the text? Is it too much on the eyes? If so, any recommendations?

Please share your thoughts. I hope to some day turn this into a big board. I'm just slow at getting things going. LOL! Thanks in advance! :D

hmm ,well i dont know to be honest, i have mixed feelings towards the site...certainly is unique ... however im not sure exactly where to look since you have vibrant colors all over the place..its hard to place focus in single spot where it might be important ... your forums certainly need some work done , they have a few CSS issues such as the Drop downs , or the usernames...and perhaps you can work on your own custom Buttons and such...

I like how your blog is set up better than the home page... its not too much going on , but its just enough to display uniqueness.

Overall , its a good site that can certainly be improved.. good luck!

Thanks! That's what I was afraid of. Got a little too crazy with the contrasting colors. I will try toning them down. Thanks for the heads up on the CSS issues. I didn't realize there was a problem. :)

I agree about the colours. Try to use a colour pallet that matches better and makes the site a whole.
Also in the blog: yellow on brown is hard to read.

I think its too chaotic.

I tend to go over board on graphics when i make sites for myself too, but i like yours it ok to make the splash page bold and colorful it meant to get them to stay.
