View Full Version : Sig Image Issues (Bug?)

One of my users is trying to use a signature image. He has uploaded a .gif to my forums, but the signature will not show up. I confirmed the following:

1) The signature meets the size requirements
2) His usergroup is allowed to use signatures
3) His profile is set to display signatures

I was also unable to make the .gif work. It shows up in the ACP as his signature, but it will not show on forums. I saved the image to my desktop, renamed it, resized it, and converted it to a .jpg, then uploaded the new .jpg via the ACP. It revered to the original .gif. I tried using the forum-hosted .jpg link between two img tags--it didn't work. I uploaded an entirely different signature--it showed up in the ACP, but not on forums. I uploaded the .jpg to Photobucket and used the link--it reverted to the original .gif.

Another member suggested that, if I changed only the extensions and not the format, vB may be renaming the file to the correct extension for the format. However, this would not explain why a Photobucket-hosted image would revert to the original image.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong or how to repair this issue?

Why does the format of the signature image matter? After you upload the image (does it successfully get uploaded? Or are there errors?), then you just enter in the signature where you want the image. Is that not working?

It apparently uploaded successfully, because it appears in the ACP when I administrate his account. However, if I copy link address and attempt to paste it between SIGPIC or IMG tags, nothing shows up in his signature. Again, his profile is set to display signatures, as shown in the image below.

Yet, his posts still look like this:

You don't paste anything between the sigpic tags or img tags, you literally put this in the signature:

That's it. Don't change it or add to it.

Okies, I will give that a shot and wait until he posts to see if it worked. Thank you very much for your help. :)
