Remove navbar

Can someone tell me a good way of totally removing the whole navbar ?

I have a custom theme that has all the links included so basically i now have 2

Remove the navbar template? Just delete the contents of the template.

If just the navbar itself, just remove the div from the navbar template (clearly outlined with " nav buttons bar " comments).
