Visitor messages in search

How do I prevent visitor messages from showing up when I do a search of the forum? I tried to search and answer and couldn't find it and I looked at my vb options and couldn't see how to turn that option off. I know vms are public but since they're messages posted from one person to another I'd like to give them some semblance or privacy.
